Biden Wins

 

To say the past week has been crazy, would be an understatement!  It has taken me a bit of pause, to decide what I wanted to say in this post!  The election came and went last Tuesday, and with little to no issues around the country!  

What did happen, was over 150,000,000 Americans came out and VOTED!  That blew me away, it speaks volumes to how important what is happening in this country is to everyone!  It took four days for the election to be called!

On Saturday at 10:20 am I got a text, from Cole, because I had stopped watching the non stop coverage on TV, as my anxiety was raging!  Grams, BIDEN WON, was the text!  I was thrilled, and happy that the outcome was such!  I was also scared and nervous about what might happen next!

True to form, our current sitting President, did not miss a beat, he came out in the middle of the night, election night and declared he had won, when it was obvious that they had not even begun to count the millions of mail in ballots all across the country!  When they did start counting them, the states started turning blue.  Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, Nevada and finally Pennsylvania put Joe over the 270 electoral votes needed.  Biden is still leading in Georgia as well a week later!  This will ultimately give him well over 300 electoral votes.  However, POTUS refuses to concede, and well, it is in his right to contest the close elections in WI and GA, those close to the election process in those states have come out on record and said, the recount is not going to change the outcome!

POTUS is screaming FRAUD and RIGGED election!  "They stole it from me, he cried"!  This is dangerous rhetoric and would be from anyone holding our highest office.  This erodes the democratic process that we hold so near and dear here at home as well as those abroad!  Many, many experts have come out to say the election was a clean one and there are no irregularities that would even remotely suggest what he is claiming.  He has riled up his base, and even some Legislative Republicans are also claiming these things.  It is REPULSIVE!  Can you simply say, Sore Loser!

Lets be clear, Donald Trump did not cry FRAUD when he won the election back in 2016!  He WON, so he was not going to say anything of the sort, we knew months and months ago, that he was going to do this.  He told us so, he laid the groundwork for being able to claim this!  He fought tooth and nail against mail in voting during a Pandemic, because he knew, the more people who were able to vote would spell his demise!

We cannot let him get away with tarnishing the freedoms and liberties, that our country was founded upon.  Free and Just elections are what makes our country great!  The people spoke, they screamed loud and clear, who they chose!  Joe Biden has garnered over 75,000,000 of the votes cast.  The most by anyone ever running for POTUS!  This process must be protected by all of us, no matter who you voted for!  If we lose the confidence in our election process, we will lose our country!

The court battles so far have been baseless, and thrown out! I am confident that the rest will also, I know in my heart of hearts that people are not about rigging elections in this country! Our Democracy will depend on all of us standing up and Saying NO to Trump! We are not going to let you become the Dictator you dream to be!

So in the days and weeks ahead, I am sure there will be more turmoil!  However, January 20,2021 will be a winning day for all Americans.  We are tired of the nasty, name calling, lies, hate filled past four years!  We want to bring back decency and compassion into our daily briefing from Washington!  

I am praying for a peaceful transition, I am having anxiety, since it seems Donald Trump, wants no such thing!
