America's Worst Nightmare

 

Wow, the past five days have been insane!  We learn our President has COVID-19. We also learn, he has not been honest about it either, he had a positive test and still went stumping on the campaign trail and to fundraising events in at least three states!  The irresponsible behavior of this man, just keeps getting worse and worse!  

I want to be clear, I do not wish him harm, that is plain wrong.  However, he has been responsible for over 210,000 dead American citizens in 8 months. His lack of leadership during this pandemic has crippled our country!  He left the heavy lifting up to the Governors and in no uncertain terms said if you do not support me, you are on your own.  What kind of human being does this?   I am baffled still that anyone supports this man!

How does anyone not see how horrible his actions are? How he mocks the disabled, and ridicules the helpless and less fortunate.  How he calls Americans in Puerto Rico coming from shit hole countries. Still here we are, less than 30 days from election day and this man continues his lies and deceit to the American people.  Just yesterday he said COVID-19 is no more deadly than the flu, which is a lie.  It has killed 210,000 people in 8 months and is still infecting millions.  

When our country desperately needs leadership and unity, he sows doubt, hate and fear!  He is rushing to nominate a Supreme Court Justice who has only been a Judge for 5 minutes, (ok 3 years) still, that is not someone who should be sitting on our highest court in the land!  We need someone with experience in the courtroom.

I get anxiety spikes like crazy when this man shows up on my TV screen.  The thought of what he has done the past 3 years was bad enough but what he has failed to do during 2020 and this pandemic is criminal.  He not only should be led out on his ear, but put in jail for risking so many and now he is infecting others with this damn virus!

I did my Civic Duty last week, I voted!  For the first time in my adult voting life it was by absentee ballot.  I admit, I was emotional while marking my ballet, Alan and I have always voted together in our 40 years together.  Something seemed off, about this time.  We did however, take our ballets together to the Election Commission and hand deliver them to their secure drop box.  I got notice today it has been received and they will count it.  Yippee!!  

 I had no problem casting my vote for JOE!  I feel he will help to heal this country and bring about some calm amidst all this chaos.  I trust him, and I know he loves this country.  Donald Trump loves only himself!

When did people lose sight of our norms and morals that this country has based and prided itself on for years and years?  How can you overlook the racist mentality of this man, his white supremist dogma that he incites at all his rallies?  There has been a shift of tide in this country, and it is scary as hell.  It reminds me of the days of 1938 when Germany thought Hitler was doing well by them.  They bought into his propaganda and look what happened!  

Adam (my 16yr old grandson soon to be 17yr) is following the happenings closely and we discuss it often together.  He is getting a crash course in politics and he is distressed by this President and what is happening in our country as well.  He wishes he could vote this time around.  I know he will be active when his time comes, as he sees how important elections are.

I am proud of my vote and am anxious for our election to get here, because I am not going to let Donald Trump build fear in my heart, that it will be a stolen election, that it is rigged or the ballets will be fraudulent!  I have faith in our American system, and even though it has it faults, it has worked. 

If you have not voted, please do!  Vote as if your life depends upon it, because it does this time around!
